Nick Clarke Powell is a writer and award-winning producer and director of documentaries for UK and international broadcasters including the BBC, Channel 4, National Geographic, Netflix and Discovery. He enjoys making shows about long-gone animals such as mammoths and dinosaurs and those that are still clinging on, like wolves and leopards. With a background as an archaeologist in Southern India and Britain, he has also tracked the human story from Neanderthals via the iconoclastic frenzy of the French Revolution up to the bloody edges of science with documentaries on gene editing and de-extinction. He is currently bringing these strands together in an ambitious debut non-fiction title. He lives in Kent and leads a double life as a very enthusiastic bass guitarist.
