Hope Bastine
Hope Bastine is a sleep and trauma psychologist dedicated to the science of human flourishing. Born at the foot of the Pyrenees and raised across the globe, she eventually settled in London, where she balances her work as a psychologist with research and writing. In her capacity as a psychologist, Hope’s insights have been featured in The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, and Metro, to name a few.
In her debut memoir, Set Me Free, Hope chronicles her teenage escape from the Children of God cult and her subsequent decades-long battle for justice against abusers. Her story also appears in the Discovery+ docuseries Children of the Cult and the Sunday Times Magazine. By blending her raw lived experience with twenty years of psychological expertise, Hope provides readers with insight into understanding trauma, reclaiming personal autonomy, and finding a pathway to healing.
When she isn't writing or researching, she can be found exploring London's rich and vibrant culture with her dog or advocating for survivor reform.
